It doesn't logically, intuitively, epistemically-rationally, or operationally necessarily follow from UBI that people no longer have value or the ability to aspire. There's a silly 'conceptual paraphrase' of Bostrom's simulation argument doing the rounds among the clever Gen-Z-ers and Millennials at the moment. It's 'Prompt Theory'. You guessed it.
